Behind The Blog… featuring Jolie from Just Jolie

Just Jolie

Hey Beauty Buddies…

It’s Thursday already gals?!? So why on earth does it still feel like Monday here? Ooh talking of which, a maaaahosive thanks to you lovely lot for the oodles of support for this weeks features – particularly Monday’s post My Top Five Basic Photography Tips for Beauty Blogging. It seems I’m not the only one who enjoys finding others insights on blogging tips & tricks. Honestly the response was pretty amazing so thank y’all from the bottom of my socks 🙂

However, onto today’s exciting post… I have an utterly adorable young lady gracing the ‘virtual sofa of sassiness’ as the talented Jolie from Just Jolie joins us today for a quick chatter. If you’re not already familiar with Jolie’s online haven then I absolutely insist you take a trip over and say a big hello. She really is such a friendly gal who writes about a whole host of interesting topics that’s sure to have you as much a fan as I am. Okay, time for me to stop waffling & let you get to know the girl Behind The Blog that little bit better… enjoy y’all!

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

 A little bit of everything.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I’m extremely interested in all things internet; from the world of Youtube to the world of blogging, I love it all. Blogging seemed like a good place to begin but I wish to venture into Youtube at some point.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

I wanted my name to reflect my blog, which is essentially about everything I like and everything I do; just me – Just Jolie! In an argument with myself when trying decide on a name, I thought, “Why not just Jolie?!” then came “why not Just Jolie?”. Just like that, Just Jolie was born.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Don’t we all?! When I’m struggling, I do some research and take inspiration from things that interest me such as current events, fashion trends, and celebrity culture. If I’m still having trouble, I give up (in the most positive way) and an idea normally comes to me when I’m just chillin’.

What’s your favourite post to date?

My favourite post is my Bare Faced and Beautiful post inspired by UglyFaceOfBeauty. No fancy makeup or nice clothes; just me with my very naked face writing about self-confidence, something we all need more of. The post was even noticed by UglyFaceOfBeauty herself who retweeted a link to it and called me beautiful – it made my life.

Describe your everyday clothes style:

Edgy and unique, in a good way (I hope).

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

The Body Shop Wonderblur primer, MUA matte eyeshadow palette in Ever After and Revlon Colour Stay nail varnish in Rich Raspberry.

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

The onesie comes on. The candles come out. The bed is gotten into. Netflix is watched. Happy days.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

I have two moods which equate to two very different answers to this question.

Mood one: I love being sociable and dressing up and going to a house party with my friend’s and enjoying the company of other humans!

Mood Two: I want a minimum amount of human contact with only my closest friend’s, stuffing my face with food and talking about absolute rubbish.

What do you do to relax?

I listen to music, I love the feeling of not being able to hear myself think.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

 Biting my bottom lip, constantly.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

Christmas’s at my Grandma’s – the dinner wasn’t the best, the presents were from charity shops and the Queen speech was brain numbingly boring – but the family was all together, and very happily so.

What was your favourite school subject?

Art, media and English were all on par.

What’s your dream job?

Travelling round as a roadie for a band, the band being 5 Seconds of Summer.

In all seriousness I don’t have a clue, and that’s very scary.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Coming to the end of university having loved it, or being settled in a job having dropped out – praying on the first option I think.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

 1) Travel the world.

 2) Fall in love, like LOVE. (I’m hella soppy like that.)

3) Learn the guitar.

4) Go to Glastonbury.

 5) Sky dive.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Winning a national art competition for my school.

Who inspires you?

Ed Sheeran – his work ethic, humble personality and determination is something I truly admire.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

Laugh often, love much, live well.

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Write what you enjoy writing about and people will enjoy reading it. My stats also rocketed when I started posting twice a week instead of once so although it is about quality, quantity does matter.

Coke or Pepsi = Coke.

Messy mayhem or Super Organised = Messy mayhem.
