Behind The Blog… featuring Kim from And On That Note She Wrote

And On The Note She Wrote

Hey Beauty Buddies…

Where the fudge has summer gone? It was only but yesterday after posting my Summer ‘To Do’ List that the heavens literally opened & resembled a miserable, windy, grey, damp, dismal day in mid November. Typical eh? *sigh* On a slightly more positive note thank y’all sooo much for the lovely ‘get well soon’ messages after my recent bout of the lurgies… you’ll be please to learn I’m well on the mend henceforth my moans & groans being far less necessary 😉

So who do we have for your blogging delights on today’s Behind The Blog? It’s the wonderfully witty Kim from And On That Note She Wrote. Pleeeeeease tell me you haven’t been missing out on this girl’s giggle inducing blog? She’s just so darn easy to relate to, reading her posts is like catching up with a long-lost chum so get yourself over pronto and say a huge hello – you’ll undoubtedly adore her little corner of the inter-web just as much as I do!

PS: Be sure to check out her favourite post to date – it literally had me in wrinkles.

Sitting comfy? Then let’s get catching up with Kim…

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

Beauty, Lifestyle, Sarcasm, Positivity & Randomness

What inspired you to start blogging?

I would love to say I was inspired by something really deep and meaningful but I plainly needed something to keep me occupied whilst Frazer (the fiance) occupied the TV with his xbox. I mean, you could say if I didn’t find something that I would kill him, that’s pretty deep right? I didn’t think it would become what it has and that It would be such a big part of my life and mean so much to me though.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

I feel like this question is just bringing me back pain, is there anyone who chose their blog name without completely losing it beforehand?! If you have done, you’re a wizard. And On That Note She Wrote was chose because I didn’t want to have my blog associated with any genre of blog, if I wanted it to be about beauty it could be, lifestyle it could be, and it could switch and change and the name would still be relevant.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Bloggers block is my unwanted best friend, always lurking my brain waiting to pop out on a daily basis. I find that the only thing that helps me is just stepping away completely, taking my poppy-dog out for a walk and just clearing my mind of anything blog related.

What’s your favourite post to date?

I have so many posts I love, some personal and some not so. To make it easier to choose I have chose the one that everyone else seemed to enjoy the most. Still now people are reading it, 50 Things I’d Rather Do Than Watch 50 Shades Of Grey At The Cinema

Describe your everyday clothes style:

I like to think I have style, although my everyday clothes shout ‘No you don’t, you look like you got ready in the dark’. Unless it’s for an occasion I just chuck whatever on that’s comfortable. Attractive.

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Rimmel Londons ‘Wake Me Up Foundation’

MUA ‘Hall Of Fame’ Eyeshadow Pallette

Lush’s Ultrabland Cleanser, as always. (I know it’s skincare but I have to shout about this when I can)

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

I love getting in, taking a stroll with my gorgeous poppy-dog, popping a film on and getting snuggled up with my fiance. (I’m even nearly making myself sick with how nice that was to say hahaha!)

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

It really depends, I love going out and boogieing the night away and waking up the next morning with the feeling of pure shame. But I also love love love cheesy Saturday night tv and a big fat greasy takeaway.

What do you do to relax?

Blogging has become something that really relaxes me. Not just working on my own blog though, the whole blogging world. Communicating with other bloggers, reading other blogs, the whole shabang.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

I’m really bad at assuming the worst. I always think that if I assume the worst it can only get better and I won’t be let down if the worst does happen, but It can comsume me.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

My dad passed away when I was five, and I’m at one with that don’t worry no sympathy needed over this way. But because of this memories I wouldn’t of remembered from that young of age are stuck so clear in the front of my mind. One of them was when mum used to make chips, dad used to bring me some raw (because I loved raw potato) and we would hide behind the sofa together and eat them.

What was your favourite school subject?

I really enjoyed English, but that unfortunately fizzled out when it came to exam time. It seemed less about expressing yourself in words and more about making sure you could answer a question that was going to mark your creativity, whilst not being creative, instead just following lead.

What’s your dream job?

Absolutely anything that would benefit animals. I don’t just love animals I compeltely and utterly adore them.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I would see myself as 26. hahaha wahey. To be honest I don’t have a master plan, I will just be grateful to be surrounded by everyone I love still.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Go to Bora Bora.

Open a dog kennels.

Over come my fear of planes.

Start a family.

Find a job I love.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Passing my driving test, it was such a massive thing for me, and the first time I failed. So when I passed the second time around even with my anxiety dragging me down I had a little party in the car.

Who inspires you?

I am lucky enough to be surrounded by people that inspire me,

My mum inspires me because she lets me know that I can do anything I set my mind to.

My stepdad inspires me because he took on us both at such a young age when he didn’t need to

My fiance inspires me to love more and to be more of an open book.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

‘Chocolate come from cocoa, which is a tree. That makes it a plant. Chocolate is a salad’ How more inspiring can you get?! hahaha. Eat that chocolate girl.

What top tips would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?

Absolutely go for it. Don’t expect big things from your blog over night because it’s unrealistic as lovely as it would be. As long as you are true to yourself and your blog content follows suit to that it will show and you’ll get so much from you blog. Both opportunity wise and personally.

    • Nooooo don’t be silly, the more you ramble the better as you’re so darn hilar – a wonderful writer that we all relate to so keep on rambling if that’s the case lol lol Oh don’t worry about that – something weird is up with WP as it says I’m not following you but can’t seem to refollow on your blog – odd thing is I never unfollowed!!!! which is sooooo flipping odd!!! Going to try it via the comments option so if you get an unfollow/follow notification shortly it’s only me trying to work out what the heck it’s playing at *sigh* XXXXXX

      • i think it’s because of the self hosted palava, when I log into rather than my website itself it comes up with follow button but it doesn’t on my actual site. So confusing! Although i follow you on bloglovin (i’m sure I do if I don’t I will be doing in a second) so at least I know I can keep up there! Sorry for the late reply, in the middle of moving and I have cardboard boxes coming out of every nook and cranny haha! xxx
