Behind The Blog featuring Charlotte from Alohalotte…

Howdy y’all…

Firstly a big thank you to all who stopped by yesterdays’s feature – HUUUUGE Superdrug Haul, like I mentioned it’s my last me spree for the year as I concentrate on treating friends, family & of course Santa’s invoice too! *winces*

I always find this time of year so darn hard to resist temptation as the shops are literally stacked to the hilt with bejewelled beauty goodies just beckoning to be bought! I do try (painfully) hard to convince myself they’re not essential, maybe it’s fair to say for beauty bloggers it hurts that little bit more 😉 especially when you’re imagining how darn good it would look on camera (as well as in your personal stash) hehe.

However, it’s now time to focus on our last blogger of the week to grace the virtual sofa… it’s the gorgeous Charlotte from Alohalotte! Isn’t that just the quirkest little name? I love it! It has such a friendly ring to it 🙂 Charlotte’s online haven oozes casual glam, individuality & lashings of creativity. From funky fashion menu’s to super impressive projects (check out her DIY Shelf feature &  you’ll whole heartedly agree) this gal is one blogger you need to keep up with.

So curl up & get comfy as we get to take a peek Behind The Blog with Charlotte…

In only 5 words describe what readers can expect from your blog:

fun, honesty, fashion, inspiration, lifestyle

What inspired you to start blogging?

A while ago I stumbled across Zoella on YouTube. I was looking for a hair tutorial. She tantalized me straight away. I saw that she also has a blog and from that point I wanted my own.

Tell us about your blog name… what made you decide on it?

Also a while ago I had to choose a name on Facebook. I didn’t want to take my real name so I got creative. “Aloha” is a salutation in Hawaii to say “hello” and “goodbye”. It also stands for love, affection and compassion. As my real name is Charlotte I combined both words. When I created my blog I thought “Alohalotte” was perfect so I chose it and changed my Facebook identity.

Do you ever suffer from Blogger’s Block & if so how do you overcome it?

Yeah, sure. As I usually post five times a week it’s not always easy to find new content. I do have a list where I write down ideas so when I need inspiration I have a look at it. As I also read other blogs of course other bloggers inspire me, too.

Describe your everyday clothes style:

I have a casual, alternative, urban style. My favourite shops are Urban Outfitters, Topshop and New Look. I would compare it with Cara Delevingnes street style.

What are your current top 3 beauty items?

Maybelline New York Super Stay – Mint For Life,

Style & Shine Argan Oil from Douglas for my hair

 Manhattan Eyebrow Pencil brow-nie.

How do you like to relax & unwind after a stressful day?

I love going to the gym. I feel so much better afterwards.

Describe your ideal Saturday night:

An ideal Saturday night would be a good meal with my friends and some wine. Afterwards we would go dancing in a club. (No men!)

What do you do to relax?

I do yoga or write a new blog post.

Everyone has their bad habits, what’s yours?

I love to eat in front of the TV.

What’s your most cherished childhood memory?

When I went on a horse riding holiday in England for the first time. It was perfect!

What was your favourite school subject?

Definitely german and art. I loved writing essays and art was just a lot of fun.

What’s your dream job?

Being a writer and blogger.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I must say I don’t really plan a lot. But I would definitely have my own flat with a dog and a good job.

What top 5 things are on your bucket list?

Have my own flat.

Visit Australia and south-east Asia

Get a dog.

Swim with a dolphin in the sea.

Do a road trip with a friend.

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Finish university successfully.

Who inspires you?

Cara Delevingne. I’m obsessed with her, haha.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote?

I have a lot as I love getting inspired by them. One is: Never let yesterday’s disappointments overshadow tomorrow’s dreams.
